Osun state government has sealed up a mining company operating in Iperindo at Atakumosa East local government for tax evasion and other infractions.
The special Adviser to Governor Adeleke on Mining and Mineral resources, Prof Lukmon Jimoda who led security operatives to the company said the action is backed by a valid order of the court.
The Osun state government has vowed to ensure accountability in Governance by ensuring that companies operating in the state are responsible to the people.
The special Adviser to the Governor on Minning and Mineral resources, Prof Jimoda Lukmon said this when he led security operatives to seal the mining company in iperindo, a community in Atakumosa local government area of Osun state.
Despite protests by the chief security officer of the company, operating under the name of Segilola Resources Operating Limited, it was sealed by the state government due to allegations of tax evasion and other infractions.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on legal matters Kareem Nurudeen said the action was carried out after the state government secured a valid order of the court to seal the company.
They argued that sealing the company is the right step to ensure it pays taxes owed the people of Osun State.
