Edo Governor-elect, Deputy present Certificates of Return to Oba of Benin

Edo State Governor-elect, Monday Okpebholo and his deputy, Dennis Idahosa have presented their certificates of return, issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to the revered Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, at his palace in Benin City.

The Oba expressed gratitude to the new leaders for the visit and congratulated them on their election victory. He also expressed confidence in their ability to transform the state for the better.

Meanwhile, Governor-elect Okpebholo has expressed his gratitude to the people for their support in the September 21 governorship election. He said he lacks the funds to compensate everyone who contributed to his victory but is committed to transforming the state for the benefit of all.

Okpebholo made this known during the APC thank-you celebration in Edo South Senatorial District in company of his deputy, Dennis Idahosa, and prominent members of the All Progressives Congress, APC including former Governor, Adams Oshiomhole.

Party leaders took the stage one after the other to express their appreciation to the electorate for their overwhelming support for the APC in the September 21 polls.

Okpebholo who showcased his dance moves reiterated his commitment to transforming Edo State as Senator Oshiomhole encouraged APC members to warmly welcome anyone wishing to join the party.
