The Governor Godwin Obaseki led administration has commissioned two more thirty-two seater water buses to ease transportation of goods and services within riverine communities of Gelegele in Ovia North East Local Government Area.
The inauguration is coming few weeks after a similar exercise at Ologbo, in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area where the state government also constructed jetties to enhance safety and improve the economy of residents.
The thirty two seater water buses, two of them, procured under the second phase of Edo state river transportation scheme as initiated by the Governor Godwin Obaseki led administration are meant for residents of riverine communities at Gelegele in Ovia North East Local Government Area.

Governor Obaseki was represented at the inauguration ceremony by his Chief of Staff, Osaigbovo Iyoha who said the scheme is a product of the Governor’s resolve to make life better and more meaningful for those living on the waterside.
Chairman of the Local Council, Collins Ogbewe and the second in command to the Amaokosuwei of Gelegele, Macaulay Ayiwe, commended the initiative aimed at boosting socioeconomic activities.
The state government’s entourage comprising the chairman of PDP, Anthony Aziegbemi, commissioned the buses for use.
They thereafter took a tour of several communities before meeting with the indigenes who converged at the Town hall in a show of appreciation to them for their support in the recently held governorship election.
