The leadership of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore has raised concerns over the signing into law the much debated anti- grazing laws by some state governments in Nigeria.

The National Secretary of the group Saleh Alhassan told an international Media conference in Abuja that the anti-grazing laws signed by some State Governors were mere political agenda to destroy the means of livelihood of Fulani pastoralists in Nigeria.

The clashes between farmers and Fulani Herdsmen have led to the death of millions of Nigerians across the country.
This growing insecurity has also hampered food production and safety of life and property of citizens a development that got governors of states in South West Nigeria to outrightly ban open grazing in their respective states.

But the Leadership of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, the umbrella body of Fulani pastoralists however says they are ready for a showdown with any state governor operating anti grazing law.

Alhassan believes that the insistence of some state governments on the anti- grazing laws shows how careless they are about the pastoralists and therefore appealed government to rehabilitate cattle routes across the country.

While in May 2021, as part of the 12 resolutions reached at their meeting in Asaba, the Delta State capital, governors of 17 states in Southwest resolved to ban open grazing of cattle as a measure to tackle insecurity in their respective states, the leadership of the Fulani social cultural group however thinks otherwise.
