The popular Benin/ Lagos Expressway, by the University of Benin main gate, Ugbowo campus this Tuesday morning, was on total lockdown for hours following the University students protest of twenty thousand Naira hike on late school fees payment, by the management of the institution.

Following a set of Students protest against the increment, road users were stranded due to the heavy traffic, as a result of the blockage of the Benin/ Lagos expressway

While this was going on, another group of students also marched round the school premises, to kick against the decision of the institution management over the school fees increment.

The students want the university of Benin management, to reverse the decision, as they also accused the school authority of not providing them enough lecture halls for conducive learning and other basic amenities.
Should the institution’s management decision stands, a late school fee of N41,400 Naira will attract N20,000 Surcharge after the given deadline.
