The wife of Nigeria’s President Oluremi Tinubu has been commended for her health initiatives that target the poor and vulnerable at the grassroots.
Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas made the commendation when he was speaking at the launch of the distribution of 10,000 professional kits to midwives in the Northeast States, at Jalingo, Taraba State, by Nigeria’s First Lady Oluremi Tinubu.
Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas and his wife, Agyin Kefas, received Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, in Jalingo at the Danbaba Suntai Airport.
Her visit is to launch the distribution of 10,000 professional kits to primary healthcare midwives in the six states of the Northeast geopolitical Zone.
Governor Agbu Kefas said the initiative directly targets the core issues of increasing difficulties and health challenges among the poor and vulnerable.

Nigeria’s First Lady Oluremi Tinubu said the initiative is to complement the training of one hundred and twenty thousand (120,000) health workers from all states of the country, to reduce infant and maternal mortality and morbidity.
The First Lady also presented a cheque of 50 million Naira to the Taraba State first lady, for disbursement to petty businesswomen in the state.
Oluremi Tinubu had met with traditional monarchs in the state to seek their support on the enlightenment of people at the grassroots, on assessing professional medical care.
