The National Population Commission, NPC, has said that the conduct of the 2022 Census remains sacrosanct, as all arrangements towards its success have been put in place.
The Chairman of the Commission, Nasir Isa Kwara, disclosed this in Kano, during a press briefing on the conduct of the second pre-test exercise, for the next population and housing census.
In March 2006, Nigeria, for the first time, conducted a Population and Housing Census.
Since then, efforts to conduct another census has not yielded any success.

But the chairman of the commission, Nasir Kwara, believes the narration is set to change in 2022, as he confirmed that the census will take place.
On the census being hijacked by the elites, the chairman said they are deploying modern technologies that will make it difficult to be hijacked.
The commission said the essence of the pre-test, is to lay a good foundation for the next Population And Housing Census, which they believe will be credible, reliable and acceptable to the country.
