A new Industrial city project has been flagged off in Ezzamgbo, Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, South East Nigeria.
It is one of government’s deliberate measures to create jobs for the youth, diversify the economy, and improve living standards of the people.
The project situated on the new Cross River – Ebonyi – Enugu – Benue, and Taraba States economic and transportation corridor will also be a pathway in addressing the energy shortfalls of the axis.

Artisans, youths and government officials who have come to witness the historic groundbreaking of the ambitious project, are optimistic that the industrial city when completed will not only breed youths expertise in industrial, technological and entrepreneurial skills, but will as well bridge the unemployment gap and curb youth restiveness in the statel.

For the Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, the industrial city is a wake-up call to the youths, challenging them to explore their talents and change the old narratives associated with the Ebonyi people by engaging in meaningful ventures as well as own the new industrial city project.

The project is targeting to be a one-stop industrial city park, serving the eastern corridor of the emerging tran-Shara super highway hub.
It’ is about 20 years since the land allocation for this new industrial city, measuring about 52 hectares, located at the outskirts of Abakaliki metropolis was mapped out.
