Tragedy has struck the heart of Jos as a devastating overnight fire ripped through the popular Terminus Market.
Goods worth millions of naira have been destroyed, leaving hundreds of traders to grapple with immense losses amidst an already challenging economic climate.
The inferno erupted at approximately 2 o’clock, Wednesday morning, engulfing an estimated 500 makeshift shops.

The scale of the destruction is immense, with the value of the goods lost still being assessed.
According to the Chairman of the traders’ association, preliminary investigations identify an electrical fault as the likely cause of the blaze, which quickly spiraled out of control.
Responding to the tragedy, the Plateau State Commissioner for Information, Joyce Ramanp, has called on citizens to remain calm and refrain from politicizing the unfortunate incident.
Even as 9 o’ clock Wednesday morning, fire continued to burn, though the immediate threat had subsided.
