Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Mahia has launched the Livestock Transformation Programme.
This ambitious initiative aims to revolutionize livestock farming across Nigeria.
The Wase Grazing Reserve, one of the largest in Nigeria, played host to the launch of the Livestock Transformation Programme.
According to the Minister, the reserve, along with others nationwide are slated to become central hubs for modernizing the country’s livestock industry.

He emphasized that the transformation is expected to revitalize other crucial sectors, including the National Veterinary Research Institute, West Africa’s sole vaccine production center, and struggling allied industries.
To foster understanding and ensure participation, the Ministry held several interactive sessions with both farming and herding communities, addressing their concerns directly.
