The Chief of Southern Kaduna and Eze of Igbo residents in Zamfara State, Joel Thomas and Chief Egbuna Obijiaku, have promised to intensify their efforts towards ensuring the unity and peaceful coexistence of residents in the state.
They also committed to supporting the present Zamfara administration, to ensure the success of the ongoing fight against banditry.
The traditional leaders gave the commitment during an event in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.
Peace and security have been identified as some of the crucial factors that can engender sustainable development.
That probably informed the reason the chief of Southern Kaduna, Engineer Joel Thomas, and the Eze of Igbo residents in Zamfara State, have pledged to strengthen their collaboration, to promote peace and security of lives and property.
Engineer Joel Thomas expressed optimism that with God, and the efforts of Governor Dauda Lawal, to sustain the fight against the security challenges bedevilling the state, the menace will soon be brought to an end.
The Eze of Igbo residents in Zamfara State, Chief Egbuna Obijiaku, believes that increased collaboration is a significant step, to bring about peace and security in the country.
They noted that their subjects are law-abiding, but they will continue to advise them to maintain the positive attitude, and support the state government to flush out violent armed men, to restore peace in Zamfara.
