Bandits Kill 15 farmers, injure 3, in Kebbi communities

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have shot dead 15 farmers and injured three others in Dankade, Dihilu, Zagami and Warkatu communities in Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area, Kebbi State.

The Council Chairman, Hussaini Aliyu Bena, informed Journalists in Birnin Kebbi, on Sunday that the murderers perpetrated their evil act when they attacked the farmers at their farmlands.

He added that, the bandits infiltrated Kebbi territory from neighbouring Zamfara state in a hit-and-retreat operation.

Those who received various degree of injuries were immediately evacuated to the nearby General Hospital in Ribah, headquarters of the local government, while the departed received decent burial.

The Council Chairman thanked governor Nasir Idris for his condolence and sympathy visit to the families of the deceased, reassuring them of the resolve of his administration to stop a recurrence.

Nasir Idris was represented by the deputy Governor, Umar Abubakar Tafida during the condolence visit.

The Governor also donated N24.5 million to the deceased families and the treatment of those who received gunshot wounds.
