FG To Open Section Of East-West Road In Ten days

Minister of Works David Umahi has described the East-West Road Project as one within a very serious economic corridor of Nigeria due to the number of economic assets situated on the axis.

The Minister made this remark when he visited various Project sites in Rivers State where he promised that the closed section of the road will be opened to commuters in the next ten Days.

The routine inspection which started from the eleme Onne axis which is known as the Eket Bound section which is about fifteeen Kilometers by Fifteeen point three meters wide consists of four lanes redesigned on reinforced concrete pavement.The cost of the total project according to the honourable Minister is pegged at one hundred and fifty six Billion Naira.

The Minister while commending the contractors on the quality of work done assured Residents that the Road will be opened for use in few days.

Also the south South comptroller of works Tarilade Enwereama
Spoke on the progress recorded since the Minister’s last visit.

The Minister who also visited the Ahoada Mbiama stretch of the East-West Road told Journalists that the President is eager to come and commission the Road Project.He reiterated that with the current pace of work he is optimistic that the December twenty twenty Five deadline is still achievable.
