The Nigerian legal system will need to transit fully to the use of technology to speed up adjudications and ease the burdens litigants face.

Some key players in Nigeria’s legal sector said this during a symposium organized by the law students association of Salem University Lokoja, in Kogi State.

For some time now, Nigeria’s judiciary has come under attack over the outcome of judgements, especially on election matters, corruption allegations against judges, practitioners and many other issues.

While some Nigerians argue that the Nigeria justice system has been allegedly hijacked, others express fears that corruption within the justice system itself poses perhaps the most insidious challenge.

To them, capitalizing on the world’s transformation through technology remains the Hallmark to rejig Nigeria’s judiciary.

While the call for judicial purifications is still growing stronger in the build up to the 2027 general election, many Nigerians want the legal practitioners to match their words with actions by ensuring that the judiciary still remains the last hope of the common man.

The young minds expressed optimism that knowledge gained from the symposium will help them when they become lawyers to contribute their quota to strengthening the nation’s justice system that will reflect that, the judiciary is truly independent to exercise its constitutional responsibilities for the interest of the masses.
