Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has charged the new chairman of Shira local government, Babangida Abdullahi to discharge his duties with dignity, justice and dedication.
The governor made the call during the swearing in ceremony for the chairman at the government house in Bauchi.
Governor Mohammed, represented by his Deputy Mohammed Jatau, urged the council boss to govern his people with transparency and always be guided by the constitution as well as the policies of the present administration in delivering good governance to the people.
Bauchi state chief judge, Justice Rabi Umar, represented by Justice Hamidu Kunaza administered the oaths of allegiance and office on the newly elected chairman.
It would be recalled that on March 3rd, 2025, the executive chairman of Shira local government area, Abdullahi Beli and his deputy, Adamu Bamaraya were impeached by the local government councillors and the state independent electoral commission (BASIEC) had to conduct a fresh election to fill the vacant positions.
