The Chairman of Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State, Ormin Torsar Victor has raised alarm over the persistent attacks in the area by suspected herders.
Ormin, who took to his social media page shortly after the attack at a Catholic Priest in the area said “Fulani terrorists shot Rev. Fada Atongu just ahead of me on the Makurdi- Naka road.
They attacked Tse Orbiam, a Community less than 3KMs from Naka where the Army checkpoint is, as we speak, the casualty level is yet to be ascertained, one dead body was recovered.
This morning, Ahume village close to Jimba is under attack.”
The Council Chairman wants whole world to know what is happening in Gwer West LGA. and Benue State at large.
Ormin prayed for the souls of the departed ones to rest in peace with the Lord.
The Catholic Priest, Solomom Atongo was shot on Saturday evening
along the volatile Makudi-Naka road in the State,where two others were abducted.
