Edo State police command has arrested a twenty-two-year-old man suspected to be a cultist armed robber at a hotel located along Country Home Road in Benin City, the state capital.
The police image maker, Joel Yamu who disclosed this in a press release on Sunday said the suspect was grabbed during the command’s sustained raids on criminal hideouts following credible intelligence.
According to him, operatives of the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Unit of the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) raided the location off Country Home Road Benin-City on 13th of May where a twenty two year old young man was arrested while others scaled the fence into neighboring compounds.

Yamu also disclosed that items, including one English barreta pistol, one fabricated gun, ammunition, eighteen live cartridges, five handsets of various makes, one electronic tablet, charms and illicit drugs were recovered while further investigations led to the recovery of Four Mercedes-Benz vehicles which include a black C350, one grey C300, one grey GLA 250, and one red GLE 350, all unregistered.
Meanwhile, the arrested suspect has already been charged to court while police manhunt for the fleeing members of the gang continues.
