Security Agencies in ondo state have resolved to at all times respect and uphold human rights and dignity of suspects and citizens during enforcement of law.
This resolution was reached at a training on law enforcement and respect for human dignity organized by the Nigeria security and civil defence corps in Ondo state .
There have been numerous documented cases of human rights violations in Nigeria over the years.
These often involve abuses by security forces, poor prison conditions and arbitrary detention,restrictions on freedom of expression, and violence against marginalized groups.
It is to stem this tide,that Security agencies in ondo state converged on Akure to discuss the need to respect the human dignity of suspects in conformity with laid down laws
The ondo state Attorney General and commissioner for justice,Kayode Ajulo who was the keynote speaker said the government will continue to encourage security agencies to always uphold law and order during investigations for peaceful environment.
It is hoped that at the end of the training Participants will be better equipped with necessary mechanism while carrying out their duties to discourage violation of fundamental human rights of the people .
