The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has launched Operation Sanity in Nasarawa State.

Governor Abdullahi Sule during the launch in Lafia the state capital pledged his administration’s support for stricter enforcement of traffic laws and safer roads for all.

The launch is the highlight of a collaborative event between the Federal Road Safety Corps and the state government

Data from the Corps show that thousands of people have lost their lives and many more injured in road accidents nationwide during the first quarter of the year.

Governor Sule expressed the state’s full preparedness to support initiatives aimed at reducing road crashes and improving traffic discipline during a visit by the Corps Marshal of the FRSC, Shehu Mohammed.

Speaking on the purpose of the visit, Corps Marshal Mohammed commended Nasarawa as one of the best-performing states in terms of road safety compliance. He explained that the visit was part of a national campaign known as Operation Sanity—a coordinated effort to raise awareness and curb road accidents across the country.

He said the first quarter of the year recorded a concerning number of road traffic crashes nationwide, making initiatives like Operation Sanity even more important

After the meeting, Governor Abdullahi Sule and the Corps Marshal led the official flag-off of Operation Sanity on a major road in Lafia, marking the start of a series of road safety enforcement and public education activities across the state.
