The Open Government Partnership initiative has called on government to uphold transparency and accountability in its policies to promote good governance.
Some Non-State Actors in Lokoja the Kogi State capital, said this during the unveiling and inauguration of the Technical Working Group tasked with overseeing the implementation of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) action plan.
According to the Non-State Actors, the newly inaugurated Technical Working Group of the Open Government Partnership, OGP, is expected to spearhead the development and implementation of action plans that would promote open governance, encourage public participation, and foster a more transparent and accountable administration in Kogi State.
Facilitators said the initiative is targeted at strengthening collaboration between the government and external stakeholders with a view to improving the quality of life for citizens.

In a message to the gathering, kogi State Governor Usman Ododo directed all ministries and agencies to fully commit to the OGP initiatives. This includes embracing digital technologies that enable citizen-centered service delivery.
The Open Government Partnership initiative was approved by the kogi state government in 2024 to help deepen transparency, rebuild public trust, and promote inclusive governance across Kogi State.
