As he marks two years since his election, suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, says he would continue to abide by the solemn promise he made to always put the state first.
The governor says that despite the political crisis, he has remained steadfast, focusedand guided by the solemn oath he took to protect and promote the collective interests of the state and ensure
that people enjoy the real dividends of democracy and good governance.
Governor Fubara, in a statement made available to ait.live, notes that while the state has faced daunting political challenges that may have slowed its pace, the last two years have not been without meaningful progress; saying that he is proud of the significant
milestones his administration has
achieved in healthcare, education, infrastructural development, youth empowerment, human capital development, and the inclusion of women in governance.
While thanking the people for their trust, honour, and privilege
bestowed on him to lead the state, the governor says that the achievements could not have been possible without their unwavering support and sacrifices.
He adds that their support has emboldened him to press on and work harder to foster peace, reconciliation, and forgiveness, which are essential to restoring normalcy and delivering transformational infrastructure, impactful programmes, and life-changing services across the state.

Governor Siminalayi Fubara says he looks forward to working hand in hand with them to build a state they will not only be proud of, but a Rivers State that will serve as a model for the rest of Nigeria.
As the people reflect on the lessons of the past two years, the Rivers State Governor also uses the opportunity to appeal to parties involved in the political crisis rocking the state to embrace peace, unite and and focus on the progress and development of the state; stressing that now is the time to rise and mend fences.
