The Global Catholic mission has urged journalists and media practitioners to be communicators of hope.
Addressing communication experts on Sunday at St Peter Catholic Church, Itesi, Abeokuta, Ogun State, the Catholic Bishop of Abeokuta, Most Rev. Peter Odetoyinbo at an event to mark World Communication Day, said the world needs a communication that radiates beauty and hope even in the midst of desperate situations.
Most Rev. Odetoyinbo in the message he presented on behalf of the Catholic Pontiff said what the world needs at the moment is a communication strategy that inspires peace and hope to build humanity.
Some panel discussants at the service also dwelt on different ways that communication experts can help advance the cause of humanity which they say could be achieved through the adoption of development communication tools.
