The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyode, has assured that the Nigerian Army will continue to encourage professionalism even in the face of rising security challenges, as he honours soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for national security.
He said this during an Eid al-Kabir luncheon for the Special Task Force, Operation Safe Haven in Jos, Plateau State.
The chief of Army Staff represented by the Deputy Director General of the Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Centre, Major General Philip Eromosele, praised the troops’ resilience. He notes their efforts have been crucial in restoring peace to many troubled regions and pledged continued support.
The General officer , commanding 3 Division and Operation Safe Haven, Major General Folusho Oyinlola, said that it is a moment to acknowledge the dedication and sacrifices of Armed Forces Personnel in service to the nation.
Following tradition at such gatherings, the soldiers were personally served meals by the special guest of honor and other distinguished attendees.
The Irigwe traditional troupe, from the community neighboring the 3 Division Nigerian Army, captivated guests and soldiers alike with their exceptional dance performances.
