The Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) for the 19 Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory, Reverend Joseph Hayab has commended security agencies for their continued efforts in combating banditry, insurgency and other forms of criminality, across the country.

Reverend Hayab made the commendation during a strategic meeting with Northern Christian Youth Professionals, (NCYP), in Kaduna.

Reverend Hayab urged Nigerians to support government’s efforts at fighting insecurity, stressing that national development can only thrive in a safe and stable environment.

The Kaduna State Coordinator of the NCYP, Pastor Yusuf Galama, used the occasion to appeal to the Federal Government to urgently implement the newly approved National Forest Guard initiative by President Bola Tinubu.

He emphasised that the initiative would not only strengthen national security, but also provide meaningful engagement for restive youths.

The meeting was convened to develop actionable solutions to the numerous security and socio-economic challenges facing the region and the nation at large.
