Nigerian leader, President Bola Tinubu has ended a one-day official visit to Kaduna State where he announced the conferment of the national honour of Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) on Colonel Abubakar Dangiwa (retd.), a former military Governor of Kaduna State.
The President made the announcement on Thursday during a grand reception to mark the end of his working visit in Kaduna.
He said: “Let me use this opportunity to correct an omission. Some of the people I missed in my June 12 broadcast at the National Assembly is Colonel Dangiwa. Let me honour him with CFR.”
Dangiwa served as Kaduna State Governor from August 1985 to June 1988 under General Ibrahim Babangida’s regime.
After retiring from the Army in 1993, he became a social critic and founded the Movement for Unity and Progress party.
