Ondo State Government is proposing death penalty for individuals convicted of kidnapping.
The position of the state government was made known by the State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Kayode Ajulo.
Ajulo said during a press briefing in Akure after the State Executive Council meeting chaired by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Saturday that the proposal will soon be submitted to the State House of Assembly for necessary legislative action.

The minister emphasized that kidnapping and cultism have emerged as great threats to public safety and order and strengthening relevant legal frameworks could help deter all forms of crime and enhance the overall security in the state.
