Bandits attack MOPOL Base in Makuku Town, Kebbi State

The Kebbi State Government has confirmed that transiting bandits attacked MOPOL Base at Makuku town, Sakaba Local Government Area, on Tuesday.

The gallant troops engaged the criminals in fierce exchange of fire during which a police vehicle was burnt, but without human casualty.

The Director, Security, Cabinet Office, ABDULRAHMAN Zagga, informed Journalists at Bagudo, that, the government immediately sought for air support and reinforcement of soldiers.

He said, Fighter jet responded, while infantry was deployed and normalcy has been restored to Makuku town.

Police authorities are also investigating the incident, while the presence of MOPOL will be maintained in the area, to the delight of the community.

Zagga insisted that the Governor has requested for security reinforcement while the air component of the operation is on 24 hours standby.

He described, Rainy season as the most lucrative period for the hardened criminals, the lush vegetation provides them cover from air surveillance.

“Rustled cattle feed well, these bandits are merciless and bloodsuckers. He assured that the government is on top of the situation. “it’s a matter of time, we shall overcome.”
