Anambra Guber: INEC Commences Training For Continuous Voter Registration

The Electoral Institute (TEI) in collaboration with the Voter Registry and Information and Communication Technology Departments in the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has commenced the Training of Trainers programme in preparation for the Continuous Voter Registration in Anambra State slated for next Tuesday, July 8.

INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun who said this at the event says the training will equip the Trainers with all the necessary skills for the Continuous Voter Registration and each Trainer will pass on the knowledge gained to their trainees in the respective Local Government areas of Anambra State.

Olumekun says the team consists of 26 trainers, including supervisors.

INEC is gearing up for a packed electoral calendar, which includes five major elections within the next 13 months. By-elections in 12 states on 16 August 2025, the Anambra governorship election on 8 November 2025; Area Council elections in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT on 21 February 2026; the Ekiti governorship election on 20 June 2026; and the Osun governorship election on 8 August 2026.
