Zamfara State Government has challenged security agencies to fish out and arrest the ten suspended lawmakers who constituted an illegal assembly.

The government also described the allegations levelled against the State Governor by the parallel assembly as baseless, unfounded and a ploy to cause crisis and destabilise the state.
.
The Political Adviser to the Governor, Illiyasu Maijega stated this while reacting to the allegations by the suspended members of the State House of Assembly during their parallel sitting that the Governor inflated the contract sum of the remodelled Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital.

The suspended members of the house started to hold their parallel assembly a few months ago after one year of their suspension from the assembly.

The factional assembly led by Bashar Gummi held its sitting recently, during which they accused Governor Dauda Lawal of inflating the contract for the renovation of the Specialist Hospital to N9 billion when the health facility was constructed at a cost of N1 billion.

The suspended lawmakers thereafter gave the governor deadline to provide an explanation or face impeachment.

Reacting to the allegation, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Illiyasu Maijega revealed that government has directed security agencies to arrest the persons involved to avert anarchy, because their action could cause a major crisis in the state.

On the allegation of abuse of office against the Governor, Maijega said it is unfounded, explaining that the Yariman Bakura Specialist hospital which was initiated and built in 2007 at a cost of N1 billion by the previous administration, and was recently renovated and equipped by Governor Dauda Lawal with the sum of N9 billion in the present economic situation when prices of products have tripled is justifiable.
