Clergymen Urge Leaders to Leverage Nigeria’s Cultural Strength for National Rebirth

Nigeria’s leaders have once again been reminded of their sacred duty to lead by example and make the nation a home for all — regardless of tribe, faith, or status.

That charge came from clergymen and cultural advocates at the 30th Anniversary and Cultural Sunday celebration of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gwagwalada, Abuja, where Africa Independent Television, AIT, was honoured for its commitment to evangelisation through the airwaves.

In a country as vast and vibrant as Nigeria, culture is more than heritage — it is a powerful force of unity.
At Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gwagwalada, clergy and parishioners gathered not just to mark a 30-year spiritual journey, but to reaffirm a national truth: diversity is Nigeria’s strength, not its weakness.

The message was clear: leaders must do more than occupy office. They must become examples of inclusive leadership, creating a Nigeria where no one feels less because of their wallet, their language, or their faith.

From colourful attire to spirited performances, the event pulsed with the rhythm of Nigeria’s many tribes — a reminder of what is possible when unity triumphs over politics.

The high point? Recognition.
Africa Independent Television — AIT — received the award for Best Tele-Evangelisation Station in Nigeria, applauded for telling African stories with dignity, and for giving voice to faith in media.

As the curtains fell, the message lingered — Nigeria doesn’t need to run abroad for greatness.

The potential is here, in our cultures, in our values, in institutions that choose to work together rather than apart.

From Gwagwalada, the call is loud and clear — unity in diversity is not a slogan, it’s a survival strategy.

And as leaders are urged to act with conscience, the people are reminded that Nigeria’s greatness lies in its people all of them.
