The 63 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Asaba has engaged in community service and public lectures in this year’s Army Day celebration in commemoration of the first shot fired on July 6th at the start of the Nigerian Civil War of 1967
The two day event put together by the Commander 63 Brigade of the Nigerian Army Asaba Brigadier General Abdulmoshood Shonibare saw the various departments of the Army engaged students of Ruch Secondary School on different carrier opportunities in the Military, their overall wellbeing and distributed education materials to the school.
Brigadier General Shonibare’s public explanation of his journey in the profession would consolidate the state governments efforts, encourage and convince the youths of carrier opportunities in the military.
Ruch students beside receiving educational materials courtesy of the military, were privileged to receive mentoring from the military professionals in different fields such as engineering, medicine, education and religious knowledge amongst others.
The second day of the outing was a medical outreach covering overall body checks, consultation, tests and dispensing of medicines at Esemezie primary school, Ibusa.
Over 500 people made up of both young and the old from different strata of the society benefited
Pregnant and nursing mothers were given special attention. They were given treated mosquito outside the medicare they received.
