Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris has attributed the growing security challenges in the state to the activities of informants and inadequate security personnel.
He made this known during a condolence visit to Zogirma community in Bunza Local Government Area where three mobile policemen were killed recently by armed assailants.
The governor clarified that the perpetrators were not Lakurawa or known bandits, but rather thieves allegedly invited by local informants.
According to him, their motive was to steal funds recently donated by the state government to victims of a windstorm disaster in the area.

Governor Idris further disclosed that the state government will soon sponsor an executive bill to criminalize the act of aiding criminal elements through intelligence sharing.
He warned that anyone found guilty of acting as an informant to criminal elements may face the death penalty, stressing his commitment to stamping out threats to peace and security in the state.
