The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has linked the downward trend in criminal activities in the state to the deployment of technology-driven policing as a strategy for fighting crime.

Ogunlowo who disclosed this during a media briefing in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, stressed that while crimes are reported daily in the state, the use of modern technology, intelligence gathering, and sharing are helping to achieve the desired results.

He noted during the briefing that a technology app that will involve residents as participants in policing the state will soon be installed.

On cult related activities in the state, CP Ogunlowo said prompt attention to the activities of these criminal gangs have helped to check the menace.

The police commissioner further assured investors in the state of a much secured environment, appreciating the residents and other security agencies for their contributions to keeping the state safe.
