The parish priest of Saint Martin Catholic Church Lugbe, Abuja, John Obi, says Nigeria’s Diversity should be celebrated, cherished, and seen as a source of strength that can propel the country on the path of progress and unity.
Obi said this during the 2025 Parish Cultural Festival celebration mass service on Sunday in Abuja with the theme, “Our culture… Unity in Diversity.”
The parish priest, Obi advised Nigerians to reinforce the importance of unity amidst the country’s diversity.
Other worshipers said with over 250 ethnic groups and multiple languages in Nigeria, the country is a melting pot of diverse traditions, customs, and beliefs hence the need to celebrate the unique and rich cultural heritage across the country.
They appealed to all Nigerians irrespective of religious beliefs to recommit to the Unity of the country and love one another to foster peaceful coexistence and promote a sense of togetherness.
