The candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC has been declared the winner of Taraba State House of Assembly by-election in Karim-Lamido Local Government Area of the state.
The result of the by-election on Saturday announced by INEC in the Local Government Area APC candidate, Abner Shittu winning with a margin of 374 votes.
The APC candidate polled a total of votes of 5,901, followed closely by the candidate of the PDP, Ali Kanda who polled 5,527 votes.
The result of the election is a new twist in the politics of the state known as a strong hold of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

The election was held to fill the vacant State legislative seat of Karim 1 constituency created by the resignation of the former member after being appointed a member of the State Executive Council.
The election was generally peaceful despite challenges faced in some polling units due to the malfunctioning of BVAS machines.
