Ondo State Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to preserving and celebrating the state’s rich indigenous culture and heritage.
Governor Aiyedatiwa gave the assurance at the revival of the Mare Festival held in Idanre.
He said Ondo State is richly endowed with unique cultural festivals across its various communities, noting that each festival reflects the people’s history, values, and identity.
According to the governor, culture remains a strong unifying force that promotes peace, unity, and social cohesion among the people.
Governor Aiyedatiwa also noted that the festival provided a vital platform for youths to showcase their talents, expressing optimism that several promising talents were discovered during the four-day cultural celebration.
The governor assured the people that the Mare Festival will henceforth be celebrated annually as part of efforts to sustain the state’s cultural legacy and boost tourism.
