The Zamfara State Government has approved enhanced monthly allowances for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in the state, with Medical Corps members to receive ₦150,000, while other health professionals will be paid ₦50,000.
Governor Dauda Lawal disclosed this during the swearing-in ceremony of 2026 Batch A, Stream I corps members deployed to Zamfara State.

According to a statement issued by the Information Officer of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Suleiman Aliyu-Gusau, the governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Tasi’u Musa Shinkafi reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to the welfare and overall well-being of corps members throughout their service year.

The statement further revealed that corps members from other disciplines posted to various ministries, departments, and agencies will receive a monthly allowance of ₦20,000.

Governor Lawal assured the corps members of a conducive working environment during their one-year service period.
On security, the governor acknowledged existing challenges in some parts of the state and assured continuous collaboration with security agencies, traditional rulers, community leaders, and vigilante groups, noting that such engagements have already led to measurable improvements in several areas.
