FG Donates Generator, Diesel To Uni. Maiduguri Teaching Hospital

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has said it will continue to provide effective services especially to victims of Boko Haram insurgency.

The Minister, Sadiya Farouq said this while handing over a 500 KVA power generating set as well as 10,000 litres of diesel, to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.

The Humanitarian Affairs Minister, Sadiya Farouq, represented by her Special Adviser, Group Captain Sadeeq Shehu (rtd), explained that the power generator, is in fulfilment of an earlier pledge to the hospital, during the inauguration of the Burns Centre, a few months ago.

The Managing Director, North East Development Commission, NEDC, Mohammed Akali, said the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, has acknowledged the services being rendered by the Teaching Hospital, to vulnerable people in the region.

The Chief Medical Director, University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, Professor Ahmed Ahidjo, commended the North East Development Commission, for coming to the rescue of the Hospital, especially at a time like this, when there has been power outage, being experienced in Maiduguri, for almost one year.
Professor Ahidjo also acknowledged the support provided by the Commission, during the Covid-19 pandemic, and appealed for more intervention, to enable the hospital to render more effective services.
