The Obidient Movement has expressed deep concern over what it describes as the growing threat to Nigeria’s democratic institutions, warning that recent developments could push the country towards instability.

Reacting to the recent court judgement on the Nigeria Democratic Congress NDC At a briefing in Abuja, the group criticized the federal government and the judiciary, alleging attempts to suppress opposition.

It described the move as unconstitutional and politically motivated.

The movement argued that the action of the current government violates citizens’ rights to political participation and warned that continued erosion of democratic norms could undermine public trust in governance.

The group noted that the judiciary once regarded as the last hope of the common man is now perceived as compromised and increasingly influenced by executive interests.

It cautioned that if the courts fail to uphold justice, citizens may resort to self-help, which could destabilize the nation.

The Obidient Movement also claimed that the ruling elite is unsettled by what it described as a growing coalition of Nigerians demanding change, insisting that power ultimately resides with the people.

The movement reaffirmed its support for opposition leaders and pledged to continue mobilizing Nigerians towards what it termed the liberation of the country from entrenched political control
