The People’s Republic of China has marked the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), with its government reaffirming commitment to deepen ties with Nigeria.

In an article signed by Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai on July 1, 2026, China said the CPC’s leadership was central to the country’s transformation into the world’s second-largest economy.

The Ambassador noted that since its founding in 1921, the Party had led China from poverty and turmoil to “prosperity and strength” through independence, people-centered development, self-reform, and theoretical innovation.

Ambassador Yu said China’s model, which differs from the Western path, offers developing countries more choices in pursuing modernization without copying external systems.

On bilateral relations, the Ambassador stated that China and Nigeria have maintained 55 years of friendship since establishing diplomatic ties in 1971.

He said political trust has deepened and cooperation has expanded across sectors, delivering tangible benefits to both peoples.

He added that China supports Nigeria’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” and will align it with China’s 15th Five-Year Plan through platforms such as the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, FOCAC.

Ambassador Yu said Beijing is ready to strengthen party-to-party exchanges, strategic communication, and practical cooperation with Abuja to advance the China-Nigeria Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
