The Niger delta development commission NDDC says it will continue to play critical roles that would help shape the boy child in the Niger delta region region.
The managing director of the NDDC, Samuel Ogbuku, stated this during the celebration of the 2026 international day of the boy child in port harcourt.
The Day is observed annually on May 16 to highlight the need for intentional guidance, positive mentorship, and safe emotional spaces for boys to reduce cycles of violence and foster emotionally healthy men.
The managing director of the NDDC Samuel ogbuku says the commission is committed to promoting policies and programmes that would enhance their wellbeing.

Speakers at the event urged the boy child of the Niger delta region to shun drugs and social vices and pursue a career that would impact their families and the nation.
Highlights of the event was presentation of school bags to some selected secondary school students within port harcourt.
The theme of the celebration is ” flourish and thrive: investing in the boy fou the stronger families and communities.
