The Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council, (AMAC) of the FCT, Abdullahi Candido, has cautioned traditional rulers within the Area Council to ensure that criminal elements do not any hiding in their communities to foment violence before, during and after the Area Council elections.
The AMAC Chairman gave the warning during a town hall meeting on Monday in Abuja with traditional rulers in the Six Area Council of the FCT.

Addressing the traditional rulers, the AMAC Chairman said every candidate has the constitutional rights to campaign in any community within the Area Council.
Candido however appealed to the traditional rulers to talk to the youths in their domains to allow peace to reign before, during, and after the elections.
Speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers, the Etsu of Jikwoyi, Bawa Jetta, appreciated the AMAC chairman’s peace building efforts in the Area Council and assured him that they would take the message of peace back to their people.
The meeting was called following the attack on some party candidates at Kaite village in Kabusa Ward in the Abuja Municipal Area Council.
