Nigerian students have recorded an outstanding performance at an international academic competition, winning a total of seven gold medals, three silver medals, and several bronze medals.
The team secured four gold medals in the Science category and three in the Do-It-Yourself Engineering Challenge, underscoring the students’ excellence across multiple disciplines.
Among the top performers, Nwafor Emmanuel and Okeke Somto emerged as the overall best students in the world in their respective grade categories, a remarkable achievement that placed Nigeria at the forefront of the global competition.

Apart from a Primary 6 pupil who also finished as the overall world best, other individuals presented as Nigeria’s representatives failed to make a significant impact at the event.
The students’ exceptional performance has drawn praise and calls for national recognition. Their coaches and teachers have also been commended for their dedication and commitment in preparing the team for the competition.
