The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), backed by the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has rejected claims that the party failed to submit the names of its presidential and vice-presidential candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) before the deadline.

The party, which stated this in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Mohammed, insisted that it fully complied with the electoral timetable and submitted the particulars of its candidates within the deadline prescribed by the electoral commission.

The rebuttal came after a report alleged that the PDP was among three political parties that failed to upload the details of their presidential candidates before INEC shut its nomination portal.

The party described the report as false and a misrepresentation of facts. It demanded an immediate retraction of the report, a public apology, and a correction, insisting that its rebuttal should receive the same prominence as the original publication.
