President Muhammadu Buhari has asked the Senate to expedite action on three separate bills aimed at curbing corruption in Nigeria that are pending before it.

Buhari’s reminder is contained in a letter read on the floor of the chamber by President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan.

The three bills are Proceeds of Crime Bill, Whistle Blower Bill and Witness Protection Bill.

While the Proceeds of Crime Bill seeks to criminalize ill-gotten wealth, the Whistle Blower Bill seeks to encourage citizens with credible information to come forward.

The Witness Protection Bill is designed to provide legal cover for witnesses and encourage them to also come forward.

Buhari said the three(3) bills will give greater impetus to his fight against corruption in Nigeria.
