As Nigerians continue to hope for a more stable economy and improved energy supply, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited says it is strengthening its financial position while pushing ahead with key gas infrastructure projects expected to support industries, businesses and households.

NNPC Limited recorded a profit after tax of ₦535 billion in June, representing a 15.8 percent increase from the ₦462 billion posted in May, according to its June 2026 Financial and Operations Report.

The company also generated ₦4.389 trillion in revenue during the month, while cumulative statutory payments to the Federation between January and June rose to ₦6.286 trillion, reinforcing its role in funding government activities.

Although crude oil and condensate production slipped slightly to 1.72 million barrels per day, NNPC attributed the decline to operational disruptions, facility integrity concerns and subsurface challenges affecting some production assets.

On the brighter side, natural gas production recorded a modest increase, reflecting the company’s growing focus on gas as Nigeria’s transition fuel.

NNPC also reported significant progress on two strategic gas infrastructure projects. The Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) Gas Pipeline is now 98 percent complete, with first gas expected in August, while the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline has reached 94 percent completion, bringing the country closer to expanding gas supply to homes, industries and power generation.

The company says these investments are aimed at improving domestic energy security, boosting industrial growth and creating greater economic value for Nigerians.
