Elders of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ondo State, South-West Nigeria have appealed to supporters of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the Minister of Interior, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, to put an end to internal disagreements and unite in the interest of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Chairman of the State APC Elders Forum, Demola Ijabiyi, made the appeal on Wednesday while addressing journalists in Akure, the state capital.

Ijabiyi said the forum was concerned about the level of political mobilisation within the party, urging Governor Aiyedatiwa, party leaders, National Assembly candidates and ministers from Ondo State to work together to strengthen the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.

He stated that the elders were not consulted before the constitution of the party’s recently inaugurated Reconciliation Committee and expressed dissatisfaction with its composition.

Ijabiyi further alleged that Governor Aiyedatiwa was responsible for the crisis within the state chapter of the APC, insisting that the Governor was in the best position to apologise to and reconcile aggrieved party leaders and members.

The APC elders also called on Governor Aiyedatiwa to heed the advice of former Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, by reconciling with the three ministers from the state in the interest of party unity and electoral success.
