Ahead of the establishment of the 10 Division of the Nigerian Army in Taraba State, North-East Nigeria, the State Governor Agbu Kefas has inspected the proposed site of the barracks that will accommodate the new Army formation in the suburb of Jalingo, the state capital.
Governor Kefas alongside other government officials, were at the proposed barracks to inspect the construction, at Yali Ccommunity in the outskirts of Jalingo.
He commended President Bola Tinubu for siting the new military formation in Taraba State, and assured of his administration’s commitment to sustaining the security in the State.
A visit to the site for the proposed Barracks for the newly created 10 Division of the Nigerian Army shows that construction has begun in earnest to accommodate the expected military formation.
Governor Kefas expressed satisfaction with the progress of the project, and explained that the Nigerian Army’s 10 Division will be accommodated in a temporary operational base, before the completion of the project.
With the establishment of the 10 Division, reports indicate that the 6 Brigade which is located in Jalingo will be relocated, Brigadier-General Chukwuemeka Akaliro, the Commander of the Brigade said the relocation of the 6 Brigade out of Jalingo, will be done in phases.
The establishment of the 10 Division of the Nigerian Army is expected to further strengthen security in Taraba State, and even in neighbouring states.
