The Supreme Council of Tijaniyya Worldwide has paid a condolence visit to President Bola Tinubu over the death of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, former leader of the Tijaniyya Islamic organisation in Nigeria.
The delegation, comprising representatives from Algeria, Nigeria and Senegal, said it represented more than 400 million members of the Tijaniyya movement across the world.
The delegation also included members of the Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi Foundation, led by Khalifa-Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
Speaking during the visit at the State House in Abuja, the Khalifa of Tijaniyya from Algeria, Sheikh Ali Bin Arabi, prayed for the continued spiritual relationship between Nigeria and Algeria.
He also prayed for peace and love in Nigeria, as well as the physical and spiritual well-being of President Tinubu.
Sheikh Ali Bin Arabi said, “We will continue to pray for the sustenance of the spiritual relationship between Nigeria and Algeria.”
Responding, President Tinubu thanked the delegation for the condolence visit, describing the late Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi as a beloved father and great leader.

“We miss our father, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi. He was a beloved father and a great leader,” the President said.
President Tinubu also commended the Tijaniyya Movement for its spiritual activities across Africa and the world.
He said, “I respect you for what you are doing for Islam across Africa and the whole world. May God continue to guide you.”
Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi died on November 26, 2025, at the age of 98.
