Security forces have rescued 33 passengers abducted by terrorists along a major transportation route in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The passengers were abducted while travelling through the Magazu area on August 8, 2026.
According to Operation FANSAN YAMMA spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, troops responded to credible intelligence on the incident and immediately moved to the area.

Personnel of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, and the police engaged the terrorists in a gun battle.
The attackers were forced to abandon the passengers and flee into the bushes, allowing the troops to safely rescue all 33 victims.
No casualties were recorded during the operation.
